Northline Coffee opened on Capitol Hill in 2018 with one commitment: make intentional choices from farm to cup, and build a space worth slowing down for.

How It Started

Founded on
a simple idea.

Great coffee has the power to bring people together. That belief took us from a single espresso cart at the Broadway farmers market to two full cafés — Capitol Hill in 2018, Ballard in 2021. The cart is gone, but the standard hasn’t changed: every drink dialed in, every guest welcomed by name when we can manage it.

Our Coffee

From farm to cup, on purpose.

Transparent Sourcing

We buy from producers we can name — in Huila, Sidama, and Chiapas — and pay above-market prices for lots we believe in. Origin details are printed on every bag and posted on the bar.

Small-Batch Roasting

We roast weekly in 12-kilo batches in our Ballard roastery, cupping every batch before it reaches the bar. Nothing older than fourteen days ever goes in your cup.

Dialed In Daily

Every morning, before the doors open, our baristas taste and adjust each coffee on the bar — grind, dose, temperature — until it’s right. Then we open.

Better for the Planet

Compostable cups, a real-mug discount, and a partnership with Seattle’s zero-waste collective. Small choices, made consistently.
